Guest Speaker Brian Herd Partner   -   HopgoodGanin Lawyers “New Twists on Family Planning" Brian’s presentation will be informative, entertaining and riven with stories.

   We might be well prepared for the pleasures of retirement but we’re seldom prepared for the potential pain of retirement and beyond. We look forward to the lifestyle hype but we avoid or ignore the impact of our own ageing, and that of our ageing parents (and parents in law). It’s a ‘family thing’ and unless families are prepared to confront the future, then I can confidently predict, after 40 years of experience, your retirement, and your legacy beyond, will be more painful than pleasurable. Brian is a partner with HopgoodGanim Lawyers in Brisbane and describes himself as

an ageing and passionate lawyer who, for some 20 years, has practised in estate

planning and succession and particularly in the area of Elder Law or law relating to

older people and their families.

• His work extends to the numerous issues in life and estate planning, Centrelink,

strains and stresses that adult children will be exposed to in meeting the needs of

their ageing parents.
